How do I remove paint from decking?
Just bought a house with extensive painted/stained decking which is peeling away and would love to restore to natural finish. Apart from costly paint stripper any other ideas??

- you could try pressure washing, as long as it is laytex paint it will come off, if its oil paint spend the money
- Hi i recently done this using a pressure washer which i got from argos for 50 quid,it was a doddle but don't go down to far on the wood or you will start pulling that away too, they are powerful tools.you could also sand it i suppose but that would take forever in my opinion i done it in about 20 minswith the washer.gd luck
- I use an electric paint stripper , it looks like a hairdryer but obviously far hotter , this heats the paint and when it starts to bubble up you just use a scraper to remove it ( pretty effortless ). Or you could buy paint stripper which you brush on and it chemically attacks the paint. ( doesn't always work depending on the type of paint ) I wouldn't use that stuff though if you have any cats , dogs or toddlers . It's pretty messy and obviously nasty stuff.
