Platform Decks

What is wrong with my car audio/speakers?

I drive an old '94 Honda Civic. It has (I believe) a '96 Prelude CD deck installed, and rear and front speakers were replaced around 2 years ago (that's it: no amps, no subs) I was just driving one day listening to the radio when the sound from my speakers went out and the signal connections to all my local FM stations went out as well. I tried playing a CD, but still no sound whatsoever. The deck still has all its power functions (I can turn it on/off, adjust the time, flip between AM/FM/CD, and change CD tracks), except the center display no longer lights up. And you know how you can scan through FM stations and it'll play the next signal it picks up, well since I can't connect to any local FM stations, my radio just runs through all the numbers, unable to connect to anything. Absolutely no sound through AM/FM or CD. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what the problem might be or how I should go about troubleshooting it? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

  1. take out your stereo and make sure that its grounded, the antenna wire in in tight, and also check to make sure no speaker wires pos and neg aren't crossing
  2. Just make sure that the wiring is okay first of all checkthe AC wire and also make sure the speakers are alrite with their wiring.
