What is the best way to fasten composite decking?
I am replacing my deck board with Ultradeck Comqosite decking. What is the best way to fasten it?

- There are special screws that don't cause the composite to build up around the heads with the waste. They go in flush and there are no 'burrs' to contend with. With regular screws, there is the material that gets pushed out and up around the heads to deal with, making the deck unsightly and uncomfortable to walk on with bare feet. I'm sure the screws cost more, but they are probably worth it.
- Some are either ship lap or toung and groove which means you can fasten by nailing at an angle to the edge of each board to hide the fastener. Like putting down a hard wood floor. If you just have square edge boards. I would use a colored deck screw, with the color that closely matches the color of the decking. Good luck.
