What decking wood is used to get that lovely grey weathered look?
Is it just normal decking that has been weathered over years? or can you buy decking wood that looks that good? Thanks xx

- Composite
- This is normal weathering where no further preservative has been used. You could treat standard boards with liming wax to achieve the same kind of look easily, but it would cost the earth! So just lay your deck and neglect it for the weathered look!! Good luck.
- they have a non. wood product to day. choose your own color.ceder weathers a gray tone.pretreated can be stained. stop by a home depot. they will be happy to help you and give you advice. good luck.enjoy.
- Hardwood, like teak, left in the sun go's grey
- Before you begin, remember that decking is ideal rat housing.
- Cedar will turn gray with weather and age. Regular pressure treated lumber will also tend to gray slightly if left untreated. But Cedar is know for its graying qualities. But to get this color you can not stain it or treat it with a sealer. Cedar has natural preservatives qualities. That is one of the reasons it cost more.
- cheezyhill is spot on cedar silvers with age and does look quite nice give him the points Hibee incorrectly fitted decking is rat housing, but with 2 inch of rough gravel underneath they will hate it
