Platform Decks

SIMS 2 QUESTION?? PLEASE HELP!!?

okay well im gonna try to make this as clear as possible. Well i am making a house and the bottom floor has a deck platform under it and im also building a garage but i cant connect the garage and the house because they are 2 different levels so it wont let me do it. does anyone know how i can connect them?! thankkss and i hope you can understand the question :))
