How to build a platform to sit 15ft round above ground pool?

I purchased a $300 above ground pool 15ft x 48inches and would rather build a platform to sit it on vs. sand. The ground is not exactly level but not too bad. Any plans on how to build a deck or platform to sit it on is greatly appreciated!

  1. all i can say is i'm not sure you could build a wooden deck or platform that will handle all the weight of the water. ok you could but it's gonna cost more than it's worth
  2. If your ground is not sloped. Sit it on the ground. It will cost you much more to build a platform. Even then a platform is not the way to go for an above ground pool.
  3. You can not.You need the sand to protect the pool liner. No wood deck is going to have a good enough surface to protect the pool liner.
  4. If your ground is not to bad I would level the ground rather than build a platform. A platform would have to be built so sturdy that it would probably end up costing you $thousands. You would need all pressure treated, 12" on center and a double layer of decking. If the ground under it moved at all your deck could end up sinking into the ground and it would be nearly impossible to straighten it back up. Whew, This is beyond my imagination. If you decide to place directly on the ground you should start at the lowest point digging soil out rather than filling up to the highest point. This way you will have less chance of settling. Good luck
