How To Build A Deck Around A Pool Knowledge Base
How much does it cost to build a deck around a pool? I am buying an above ground pool(fogot the measurements but on of the larger oval ones) I realize different locations will be different prices but anyone who build them or has got one built similar can you tell me around the cost it should be? I want a deck built from my back door around the entire pool with enough room on one side for a grill and table and on the other enough room for a couple lay out chairs..then room for walking around easily the rest of it..
Any suggestion on how to replace an above-ground liner for an oval pool with a deck around it? I have a 12 x 24 x 48 oval above ground pool. I have a deck built around it, but with little room between the underside of the deck and the top rail of my pool. I believe my first liner......which is in desperate need of being replaced....was an overlapping liner. I plan on getting a new liner and some floor pads....any suggestions on a good place with good prices??? Thanks =)
How do I build a deck? I want to build a deck around my pool that is 52 inches deep and 15 feet across. I've been looking online and I can only find patio decks. I have no idea how to make the wood curve and such. Help please? P.S: Don't tell me to get a contractor because I can't afford one.
How to build a deck for an above the ground pool? I'm thinking of buying an above the ground pool. I have a deck attached to the house and I want to extend it around the pool, so that it would actually look like the pool is in ground be cause it would be level with the deck. Hast anybody done that? How did you go about it?
I want to install a deck with an above ground pool in my back yard. How much would that cost? The deck(roughly 20x20 but probably bigger) will be built around the pool(roughly 15x15)and would be big enough for a few chairs and 1 table. The pool would be a standard round size unless I could fine a creative one or other shape. I can not dig in my neighborhood so it has to be above ground! How much would it cost for the entire project and how long do you think it would take to build? I will be doing this myself with help of my family. There will be no professional hired for the job.
How much would a 20x20 deck cost with a 8x12 rectangle above ground pool built into it? I know the question is vauge, I don't expect an exact answer. I am thinking I can have the job completly done for around $20,000, am I way off base? I would need to buy the pool as well. I basically want to square off part of my yard with deck and put it around the pool. I know the price can range alot.Thank you. Thanks, I am in Staten Island,New York.
What is the same size as a 30' by 54" pool? I am about to purchase an above the ground pool then get a deck built that is attached to the house, extends away from the sliding doors in the back of my house to out & around the pool. I have pictures that I gave to the contractors so they can make a design & i will post urls for it. Any who, Most of the pools are averaging around 2000 dollars or more. If I am going to spend 2000 or possibly more than that then I want the pool to be a good size. The type I am looking at (tahitian) last for 60 years so that is some reassurance. I do not know how big the pool actually is though so can somebody give me a comparison or something like that? The sizes I may get is either 24' by 54" 27' by 54" 30' by 54" I know 54" is the dept of the pool. So that is 4.5feet deep. Now what is the size? How big is 30'? I like the 30' because it sounds big but if it is not a good size then i might as well get a 24 or 27'. The contractor is ready to build the deck but I still have not any purchases the pool. I have been hesitating. I have to get the pool and get it set up in the yard before he can build the deck around it. In all I will spend around 5,000 on the whole project so i want to make sure the pool is a good size. I love to swim. Plus I have a 1 year daughter so I assume in the future she will have slummer parties, house parties, and things of that sort so I want it to be big enough to fit a group of kids. Sorry for rambling on and on. LOL. http://deck-x-perts.com/images/slope2.jpg http://www.arthurspools.com/images/wpe22.jpg http://www.arthurspools.com/images/legdeck.jpg
How many posts do I need in the ground for a deck? I am going to be building a deck around a pool this spring. I got a plan from Menard's, which is very confusing if you ask me! Anyway, the deck will be 16' 2" X 17'. The 17' is on each side of the pool and will circle out, at the middle of the deck the length of the deck will be 13'. I hope this is making since! My question is, how many posts do I need in the ground for this deck to be sturdy. My estimate from Menard's says 13 posts, 10 of them go very close to the pool and the other 3 are out farther on the deck. My local lumber company says that I only need 9. Anyone that has experience on this please help. Thanks

What is the typical price per square foot to install a pool like this? No ladders or anything. Just a nice pool 3'-6' depth or so

SINK HOLE ALERT!!!!! NEED HELP!!!!!!? we have a huge sinkhole under half of our above ground swimming pool. we have built a deck around the pool-so moving it is out of the question. this sinkhole is so big, there is an obvious drop off starting in the middle of the pool and gets worse the further from the center you get, just outside the pool the sinkhole gets bigger and there is a gradual 2-3 foot difference in level. there are 3 other sinkholes on my property but this one is the worst. we have tried pulling back the pool liner and adding mounds of dirt so that end was higher than the end not affected by the hole, but after one year it has sunken to a full inch below the normal half of the pool. i dont want to get rid of my pool has anyone ever had this problem before? how do i fix it? i need a lot of help!!!

Lifetime for above ground pools? Above ground vs inground pools? I am in the market to purchase a house and would like a pool. My question is how long do above ground pools typically last? One house I am considering has an above ground pool with a deck around it but the house itself is about 10 yrs old so the pool may be that old too. Also, how much would I expect to spend if I bought a house without a pool and decided to add a pool and deck? what's the cost range for an inground pool? How much time would it take to build either?

?illegal yu-gi-oh tournament,Anyone? I'M having a tournament where anyone can enter for free. The point is to gather as many duelist as I can. So all participants can duel and have fun.So if are reading this, you can come to my tournament and you can invite other duelists or friends that are weak, strong, etc at dueling. Please Invite Them!!!!Cauz, I know im going to invite my friends.I want to make this tournament a blast.I want a lot of duelist in my tournament to actually have a tournament…Since dueling is a hobby, yet it is lost since we duelist don’t spice up our dueling life. The rules and info. of this tournament are the following: 1)Can only have at least one of any ban card in ur deck J 2)Have right amount of semi and final semi cards(like an original tournament-limits of cards) 3)Dueling will occur in specific format(me and my cousin will gather up all duelist names that participate in our tournament and shuffle their names in a bag and duelist will duel randomly) *4)WARNING!Come prepared to duel!!In order to spice up the duel’s J Every person in which duels !must! give up a rare card in which their going to give up (both opponent and duelist must agree what card they are going to give up in their own deck’s and come up with an agreement in which card their risking, no Bull Shit people,we all gather up to have fun and games in this crazy tournament)….So be careful duelists, If you lose, you agreed to 2 give up ur 1 card in which you betted. So basically, the winners in each match takes the losing opponents 1 card in which was betted!! 5)Follow gamble card format rule( *4 ) .If not u are automatically disqualified no but’s,if’s or and’s!!!!!! L 6)Everyone is going to duel 3/2 so whoever wins, advances. 7)No cheating or acting dumb in duels. We are going to duel fair and right. If one has troubles in duel ask me or my cousin will do our best to help.Hopefully,….LJAnd yes we the providers of the tournament will also participate to spice things really up J(although, both me and my cousin will actually duel the last 2 survivors at the end of the tournament/ha ha ha were so evilJ..But,not play the gamble rule’sJ.So that the last duelist don’t lose any rare cards but play for their survival) *Me and my cousin will provide paper and pencils. So that u participants can keep track of ur own Lp. 8) Their is a nice prize for 1st place, Im going to buy 1 of any collectors tin can for 1st place and offer a rare card for 2nd and 3rd 9)Main specific Information: Where:4850 East 52nd Place,City of Maywood,California(?need directions? Go 2:google/web type in Maywood Park(city of Maywood,Ca) When:September 26,2008 at 12:00 A.M sharp-??:??PM Why:To have fun and meet new duelist. Also,so we can make the park our dueling kicking place. So that duelist gather up and duel 4 funJ How:Tournament will be followed by our “illegal” yu-gi-oh rules.LOLJ. Who: Javier Ortega & Jose Juarez are the sponsor’s of the tournament.Any yu-gi-oh duelist who participate’s in our tournament has to register in person in order to participate.(And of course has to look 4,the sponsors) What: Yu-Gi-OH free tournament. 10)The provider’s names are Javier Ortega & Jose Juarez. So,when you come to our tournament in which is located in Maywood park You actually have to Ask people around the place and about the tournament, to actually find us,obviously.(*Hint, Hint*)So find us around were there’s a new looking pool being build around!!!!we will be present at the park we both are going to wear pure black clothes. And,actually have id,s 2 prove were the provider,s….Since, you have to actually register in person to actually participate and attend the tournament. 11)If not enough participant’s come the tournament, the tournament is canceled….Anywho ill know if enough people will come.Since you actually have to type your name or nick name on the page.If u are participating write ur full name or nickname in pure capital letters,In the page u are reading.(In order 4 me to see if enough people come.) All duelist Participant’s will again participate in person, when u attend the tournament in which is located in the following direction:4850 East 52nd Place,City of Maywood,California.JAnd spread the word or else the tourney will never be a success & be cancledL 12)After,tournament feel free to stay and see other’s duel in the tournament or just duel people present int the tournament. 13)If u have any ?s ask me at ortega.soraxd@gmail.com Or just comment the page or think of something(which I highly doubt, since I gave enough info)
How can I leave my above ground pool for the winter? I just got an above ground pool and great deck from a friend. We were doing some other work around our house so now we have decided to tackle the pool project. We live in Connecticut so after getting all the permits and everything we are just now starting to dig for the pool. When everything is done i.e. electrician and checked by the building dept the pool probably won't be in for a month or longer. I was thinking of leaving the pool shell, without a liner but covered for the winter. Is this something that I can do? That way I can put the liner and the water in next spring.

Two questions about Sand/Cement mix building? I've just recently built a small patio next to our pool deck using large sand stone rocks we found around the house. I added sand cement mix around the rocks to create a nice looking patio floor (and to hold all the stones together). How long should I give this to dry/cure? And how long until I will be able to hose it down and clean it up? Also whilst doing this construction I spilt cement/sand mixture onto our treated wooded pool decking. I hosed it down immediately and multiple times but it has now picked up a very white/bleak like colour which looks to of damaged the brown wood. Any ideas on removing these 'scars' would be greatly appreciated.
Fathers of Today funny or true? In 1900, fathers prayed their children would learn English. Today, fathers pray their children will speak English. In 1900, a father's horsepower meant his horses. Today, it's the size of his minivan. In 1900, if a father put a roof over his family's head, he was a success. Today, it takes a roof, deck, pool, and 4-car garage. And that's just the vacation home. In 1900, a father waited for the doctor to tell him when the baby arrived. Today, a father must wear a smock, know how to breathe, and make sure film is in the video camera. In 1900, fathers passed on clothing to their sons. Today, kids wouldn't touch Dad's clothes if they were sliding naked down an icicle. In 1900, fathers could count on children to join the family business. Today, fathers pray their kids will soon come home from college long enough to teach them how to work the computer and set the VCR. In 1900, fathers pined for old country Romania, Italy, or Russia. Today, fathers pine for old country Hank Williams. In 1900, a father smoked a pipe. If he tries that today, he gets sent outside after a lecture on lip cancer. In 1900, fathers shook their children gently and whispered, "Wake up, it's time for school." Today, kids shake their fathers violently at 4 a.m., shouting: "Wake up, it's time for hockey practice." In 1900, a father came home from work to find his wife and children at the supper table. Today, a father comes home to a note: "Jimmy's at baseball, Cindy's at gymnastics, I'm at adult-Ed, Pizza in fridge." In 1900, fathers and sons would have heart-to-heart conversations while fishing in a stream. Today, fathers pluck the headphones off their sons' ears and shout, "WHEN YOU HAVE A MINUTE." In 1900, a father gave a pencil box for Christmas, and the kid was all smiles. Today, a father spends $800 at Toys 'R' Us, and the kid screams: "I wanted Sega!" In 1900, if a father had breakfast in bed, it was eggs and bacon and ham and potatoes. Today, it's Special K, soy milk, dry toast and a lecture on cholesterol. In 1900, a Father's Day gift would be a hand tool. Today, he'll get a digital organizer. In 1900, fathers said, "A man's home is his castle." Today, they say, "Welcome to the money pit." In 1900, "a good day at the market" meant Father brought home feed for the horses. Today, "a good day at the market" means Dad got in early on an IPO. In 1900, a happy meal was when Father shared funny stories around the table. Today, a happy meal is what Dad buys at McDonald's. In 1900, a father was involved if he spanked the kid now and then. Today, a father's involved only if he coaches Little League and organizes Boy Scouts and car pools. In 1900, when fathers entered the room, children often rose to attention. Today, kids glance up and grunt, "Dad, you're invading my space." In 1900, fathers threatened their daughters suitors with shotguns if the girl came home late. Today, fathers break the ice by saying, "So...how long have you had that earring?" In 1900, fathers pined for the old school, which meant a one-room, red-brick building. Today, fathers pine for the old school, which means Dr J and Mickey Mantle. In 1900, fathers were never truly appreciated. Today, fathers are never truly appreciated.
Was my apathy a sign of depression or was it lack of blood? I know, it is a very strange question and all but let me elaborate… I have not been happy for a while and nothing seems to interest me anymore. I am not suicidal or anything but like I said I am not ever happy. I get up, make sure the boy and what not is up, fed, and cleaned. Feed the dumb dog and cat, then go to work. I get home, watch TV and go to bed. I do mix it up on the weekends, you know I go out. Meet the girls out. (I say this because my guy friends are either dead or moved on…) and have a few drinks and go home. To me this is getting old and just waking up in the morning is doing the same. I do believe that if it wouldn’t be for what I would be leaving behind I would jump off a building from the stress. Now on to the question at hand… I have very thin blood so sometime the littlest scratch can be more serious. Well I tried pulling my boys Donald Duck tape out the VCR and noticed that the tape got ate up. Seeing as he is unnaturally attached to the tape I decided to fix it. I grab my pen knife and start to use the tiny blade in it to unscrew the casing. For some reason while doing it, it snapped back and cut in to mu finger to the bone and of course like anyone else it shocked me. I go running to the sink in the kitchen to run it under the cold water facet and it would stop. I kept on walking around (I GUESS), because when all was said and done I had trails of blood all throughout the house. Now after a while of trying to stop it, started feeling sick, not sure why but I thought I was going to puke. I walked out on the pool deck and leaned over the side. Thinking I am about to puke I am just staring at the grass, and I just stat thinking “Who cares?”, I do remember sitting down and watching the blood flow out my finger and {POOF!} Next thing I remember is my neighbor looking over me and talking to me. He was asking me if I could hear him and what not. His Army training was as a Medic and he did what he could to stop the blood and I got carted off soon after. I came home and got to thinking about how I just sat down and thought why not… it would be so easy just to let it go and go to sleep. Kind of scared me, well the thought that it might mean something. I just wish I do what it was, and like I said the wonton desire to give up or lack of blood. When I saw the blood their was a trail leading from the living room into the kitchen and back and forth through the hallway almost nine times. I don’t know, well let me know what you think. No never have, didn't know the blood pressure has a connection.
What do you think of this story? I've written more now, but I wanted to see what people think. It was a dream I had two nights ago. I've changed it around alot, but kept the main idea to it. So here it is: With my mind racing in thought, I entered the party and looked around for my “so-called” friends. It was your average size party with around forty people, but the room was small. After weaving in and out of the swarm of people, I broke free to the back deck. I glanced around and just as I was about to head back in, Courtney tapped me on the back and asked, “Hey, welcome. Glad school’s over?” “Oh, Yeah thanks for inviting me,” I said rolling my eyes, knowing that she had to ask Lisa to invite me instead of confronting me herself. “Yeah, I just wish life would give me a break.” “Oh, come on. Grab a drink. You’re going to be a freshman in college next year,” she said handing me a cup from the table by her side. “Yeah, if I live that long,” I said as the flashback of death came before my eyes. I wiped my eyes, but it was still there. That room. The black shallow walls, built only for my last test. The birds flapping their wings as I searched through them to look for my soul. I rubbed my eyes again and I was back to reality. “You okay?” Courtney asked pushing her blonde curly hair out of her deep blue eyes. “Yeah, um where’s Lisa?” I asked searching around to see if she was here yet. “She just came out a minute ago, but I think she went back in to look for Josh.” “Oh, I’m going to go look for her,” I said as I put my cup down on the table and left to go inside to the crowded room. Before I made my way back to the door, I spotted Lisa and Josh talking on the sofa. “Hi,” I said once their eyes met mine. “Oh hi Sophie, I was just about to go and look around for you. How have you been doing?” “Could be better,” I said picking up my hand. I touched the bandage and remembered the painful death from just last night. “You okay?” Josh asked as he looked at my hand too. “Yeah, ugh why does everyone keep asking that?” “Becau-” and Josh stopped the sentence because Lisa kicked him in the leg. “Oww, what was that for? Oh I think I’ll go over there,” he said pointing toward the three kids who I didn’t know. “Want to go outside?” Lisa said once Josh left our hearing range. “Sure,” I said and we headed out toward the back door that lead to Courtney’s outside pool. Once we were away from all the craziness, Lisa said, “So, what’s up? What time did you get out of the emergency room?” “Like an hour before I came here,” I said and looked toward Courtney to see her talking to a hot guy I’ve never met. “Who’s that,” I asked eying toward Courtney and the guy she was talking with. “Oh, that’s Ryan. They used to go out, but she broke up with him because she wanted to go out with Josh. That didn’t last long either,” she said as I checked Ryan over. I could only see his back, but he was sexy. His thick blonde hair fell in disarray, but looked cool. The tanned skin made his expression seem as if he’d been at the beach all summer. “Yeah, she always gets the hot ones. Doesn’t she?” Lisa said when I finally finished surveying him. “Yup, why can’t we ever get any good looking guys?” “Because Courtney steals them all.” “Right.” “Oh so how long were you out in the lake for?” Lisa asked even though I didn’t feel like talking about it at the moment. “Um, for three hours,” I said but it really felt like a millennium. “So did you really like… die?” “Um, yeah and no I’m not a vampire.” She laughed, but I didn’t find it at all funny for it was a painful death. Being in hell while trying to get your life back, wasn’t just fun and games. And at that moment, I remembered the note in my pocket. I pulled it out, opened it up, and reread it to myself. Ryan – Please come to see me as soon as possible. - Esther Just as I was about to show Lisa the note, I turned my head toward Courtney and Ryan. “Okay um, I’ll be right back,” I said as Leah reached out to grab the note, but I grabbed it away from her. I walked over to Courtney and Ryan and just as I got there, Courtney’s face lit up. “Oh Sophie, I wanted you to meet Ryan. Remember that guy I went out with last year?” “Oh yeah, we’ve already met,” I said with anger growing on my tanned face. “Can I talk with Ryan for a moment,” I asked waiting for Courtney to leave. “Um, yeah Sure. I’ll just go and invite the new guests in,” she said as she headed toward the door to the house. “Hi, have we met before?” Ryan asked once we were alone. “No, but I need to show you this,” I said while showing him the paper. As he read it over, his eyes grew bold. I hadn’t noticed his eyes, but they were a beautiful shade of ocean blue that brought out his face. “How do you know he-,” he said as he backed away and grew cold. “You’re her? The girl Esther wanted to test?” “Yes, she tested me alright. But how do you know that she tested me?” “U oh sorry here's the rest of it: “Um…” and he never finished his sentence for he planted a kiss on my lips. The flash back of the tests surged through my brain. Those same ocean blue eyes following me through each test. The cry for help. The closeness of his body as he held me before Esther whipped him away. As we parted from the kiss, I threw my arms around him to bring us closer. so what do you think of it? i'm gonna when i'm done. i like to finish my work before i post it on there. yeah i know, i was trying to remember what happened in my dream and i was having a little trouble wording it... i'm going to go over that ...
Would this building survive a earthquake.? by the way The world's tallest building has been opened with a dramatic fireworks ceremony in the Gulf emirate of Dubai. The Burj Khalifa was revealed to be 828m (2,716ft) high, far taller than the previous record holder, Taipei 101. Known as the Burj Dubai during construction, the tower has been renamed after the leader of Dubai's oil-rich neighbour, Abu Dhabi. Last month, Abu Dhabi gave Dubai a handout of $10bn (£6.13bn) to help it pay off its debts. Construction of the Burj Dubai began in 2004, at the height of an economic boom. Clad in 28,000 glass panels, the tower has 160 floors and more than 500,000 sq m of space for offices and flats. This great project deserves to carry the name of a great man Sheikh Mohammed The tower also lays claim to the highest occupied floor, the tallest service lift, and the world's highest observation deck - on the 124th floor. The world's highest mosque and swimming pool will meanwhile be located on the 158th and 76th floors. Though not complete on the inside, it was officially opened by Dubai's ruler, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Burj Dubai The Burj Dubai dwarfs its neighbouring buildings In a surprise move he renamed it Burj Khalifa - after the president of the United Arab Emirates and emir of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahayan. Sheikh Mohammed described the tower as "the tallest building ever created by the hand of man". "This great project deserves to carry the name of a great man. Today I inaugurate Burj Khalifa," he said. Sheikh Mohammed also unveiled a plaque inside the tower bearing the new name. A dramatic fireworks and lights show took place around the tower while a screen displayed its exact height, which had previously been kept secret. At 828m, Burj Khalifa dwarfs the 508m Taipei 101 and the 629m KVLY-TV mast in the US, the tallest man-made structure. Its spire can been seen 95km (60 miles) away. "We weren't sure how high we could go," said Bill Baker of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, the building's structural engineer. "It was kind of an exploration... a learning experience." Mohamed Ali Alabbar, chairman of Emaar Properties, the developer behind Burj Khalifa, told the BBC that the building's design had posed unprecedented technical and logistical challenges, not just because of its height, but also because Dubai was susceptible to high winds and was close to a geological fault line. "We have been hit with lightning twice, there was a big earthquake last year that came across from Iran, and we have had all types of wind which has hit us when we were building. The results have been good and I salute the designers and professionals who helped build it," he said. However, investors are facing losses even before the tower is completed because property prices in Dubai have slumped amid the global economic crisis. Dream about being on a bus/sunlight/changing clothes? Can someone help me with my dream? I dreamed last night of traveling on a bus, through a college/university campus. In this dream, I was wearing my work clothes. I rode on two buses on my way to the campus. On the first bus it was night time and the bus was packed full of people. I was sitting on the upper deck looking down at everyone. I faintly remember talking to some girl who i thought i knew on the bus, but i don't remember her relenting to my attempts at conversation. I remember changing buses and going onto another bus, but this time the bus driver was a woman. On this bus, i sit near the front, and it is isn't as crowded as it was before. Me and the bus driver begin to talk and she asks me why i hate my job so much. She then tells me that I should look into going back to school because my job just wasn't making me happy anymore. I told her that I was already enrolling into school (which I am in real life, though I plan on working while in school). As we are talking, we pass a building with crystal clear window panes that showed an enormous pool. When I get off the bus it is day light and the sun is shining brilliantly. I get off the bus and begin walking around. A friend of mine gets off the bus with me and runs past me and slaps me in the chest, playfully. When i look down at my chest I see a mud imprint of his hand, and I notice that I am wearing a white T-shirt with some gold design. (Gold again being a recurring symbol that has been placed in each of my dreams about traveling. The first being the golden angel who was a living statue build under a tent who was trying to console me; the second being about me traveling on a train with a woman and we are trying to figure out what we should do about a treasure chest full of gold coins that we have found). I keep walking until I see another friend who has something over his head. He takes whatever what was over his head off, and I notice that he is only walking with one leg; his other leg was tangled up. He then begins walking correctly and it seems we are both going to the same school. We walk toward this bright white light that seems to be coming from the sun, though it is a lot brighter then how regular daylight is.
Who thinks these are good ideas for Skate 3? ok. there are alot of thigns i think would be cool to add or fix in Skate 3. tell me which ones u like. or if u have any other suggestions u know when u hippy jump to drop and he doesnt put his feet on the board until he lands? they should have it once u hippy jump, u can push the same buttons u do to get off a rail early to put your feet back on so u can catch it before u hit the ground old school tricks. im not talking about the little kids at a park who play skate(like HORSE but SKATE) and htey say "oldschool flip" and jump off their bord, grab it and spin it. i mean putting ur hands on the ground slidding around. lay back grinds in bowls, nosegrab tail grab ollies (jay adams)spinning manuels. (add on for old school tricks)have Tony Alva, Jay Adams, or Stacy Peralta teach u in teh game. then htey or the one that teaches u could be a character to use in free skate. (another add on to old school tricks) once u beat all the old school chalengs u get to skate(unlock) the DogBowl. that would be awsome u know how whne u grind u can grab the board? but there are only 2 grabs for each grind position? have it so u can grab it however u want. cause there are a ton of tricks i wanted to do that u cant. like smith grind tail grabs(Sammy Baca) back crook stale fish(bryan herman) crail slides, 50 50 cannon ball (spanky) hippy flips.that would be awsome. make it easier to grind around bowl corners. for some reason even if u are straight on with teh coping it always hangs up. and its really annoying have it so it doesnt force u onto rails as much. sometimes u try to ollie right beside a rail and it kinda pulls u onto the rail. same with wall rides and tranny (another tie on with old school stuff) have old school boards to use. like z flex and stuff.and otherk idna too. like cruiser boards, old school boards(banana boards) and pool boards (the huge ones) more types of hair, facial hair, clothes, decks, arange the store like Skate (1) instead of Skate 2. i liked how instead of having everything in 1 menu u chose a company then it showed what the store had for that company have u actaully have to skate to the skate shops instead of just buying stuff from the menu have day and night (kinda like American Wasteland(worst Tony Hawk game ever, but the day and night thing was cool) have it kinda like the sims. 1 second is 1 minute. so every 12 minutes or so it goes from night to day.like there is a thing that tells u what time it is so u know when the day/night is coming (tie on with the night and day thing)get rid of "teleporting to spot" and add something more realistic. like buses. use the clock thing from before so u can know when the buses will go to certain spots. like there are bus stops all over the Skate 3 world and u just go to one and wait for the bus to get there. then u get on and u just choose another bus stop and it takes u there (kinda like the sub way in skate 1) dont have it so u have to sit in the bus, it just takes u there. have more fingerlip tricks, footplant tricks, and one foot grab tricks. (this one is kinda a joke, but would be kidna cool)have u can buy off the sequrity guards.havnt u ever paid a sequirty guard to wander off to the front of the building (away from were u are) so u can skate? that would be cool have "generic" wheels. they had generic shirts and trucks. but i wanted green blank wheels. and they werent there (again kinda a joke, but if they found a cool way to do it, it could be cool) have spots get "sticky" like rails or ledges. and u have to wax 'em. but have it so u can turn that thing on or off. custom griptape. cut outs, name brands, colors, patterns, everything have u seen how when u do backside no complys it doesnt do it right? when u do a backside no comply ur foot goes on the right side of ur board if ur regular and left side of ur goofy. on skate 2 it always goes on the normal side of a no comply call "one foots" ollie norths do airwalks the right way. i guess both are acceptable. its just most people do it the other way have as one of the movable objects a sign. like u can take off the metal part of the sign and put it so u can ride up curbs. or mabey a piece of wood. u know when skaters put them over cracks, on grass to ride away clean, on ruff ground. anything have another "feature" while moving objects is u can click up to have a thing so the object wont move at all. like if it a rail or something. cause sometimes ull go to do a trick and while ur doing the trick the thing moves.(left was "save to marker" right was "upright object" and down was "reset object" creat a park. think of how much stuff u could make in the skate world. and have when u make the stuff u can actually choose how high the stuff is. for everything. like u click on the thing u want and it has "measurments" for a ramp u can choose how wide, how tall, how far from the coping to the beggining of the ramp. for rails have how tall, how l

Building an above ground pool deck question? We are installing an above ground pool. Should we put the pool in first and build the deck around it or build the deck and install the pool last? Should we put concrete under the pool?
What kind of wood stain should I use for my pool deck? We built a large deck around our swimming pool from pressure treated wood. I'm ready to apply a stain and I'm not sure what kind to use. When I looked at the many different brands, I noticed that most of them are oil based. Is it okay to use an oil based product around the pool? Will it be completely absorbed into the wood so the surface is dry? Is there a possibility of the oil being tracked into my pool off people's feet? Thanks for your help here. Oh, by the way, the deck has been built a few months so it is dried out now.
Above Ground Pool deck? I am looking into building a deck partailly around our 27 foot above ground pool. We live in Illinois and I am not sure if I can use Dek-Block's for the footings or do I need to bury concrete below the frost line. The one I'm looking at has a deck built around it so it's not as ugly as normal above ground pools. Does anyone have any advice? I'd love to hear from any one with pool experience.

What is the cost of a commercial pool in DFW? We are looking to build an approx 5000 square foot pool as a community amenity. I would expect this to have a zero entry and some additional features and would like some estimates on the likely cost of this on a per SF basis. We would also look to have significant decking around the pool also.
Is there a law regarding deck heights you build in your yard? We are having a pool deck built for our above ground pool that is about 4 ft high which means that when we are hangin out up there we can see our neighbors back patio where they have a sliding glass door with no blinds, curtains, etc. We knew the deck would be high and we were going to be able to see them and vice versa-- this is why we are also building a lower level platform attached to the deck that is about 2 1/2 ft high so we are not always so high up there. Sitting at this level they cant see us and we cant see them. Our deck is also having railing all around it. if we are up there on the top level we will be sitting with our backs towards them and the only time we will really be standing is when the kids get in the pool. These are our only neighbors back there that have a view of this area in our back yard (i live in a culdesac). When we were up there last night checking out the builders progress, those neighbors (whom we dont know...they live on the street behind us) were staring at us with there hands on there hips looking furious. My little son took it upon himself to wave and they didnt wave back. So i know they are upset about this. Once its all built though we will put a table and chairs on the lower level to try to keep the peace but I didnt built the part thats level with the pool for nothing! My kids will be up there Im sure. So my question is.... is there a law that Im breaking by building this...the builders said they didnt need a permit???? Should I feel bad like I do???
Above Ground Pool With Deck??? Thinking about buying an oval above ground swimming pool (18'X33') and building a nice deck all the way around it so it basically looks similar to an in-ground pool. My question: Would the pool last for several years this way or need to be replaced after a few years?
I have a deck which was built and the footings were never put in concrete, any way of correcting w/o teardown? The home I have has a deck which was built around a pool. I just noticed that none of the footings were placed in concrete. is there anything I can do about this now? The deck seems very sturdy. I guess it has been up for about 3 years now and no problems as of yet. I just would like to reinforce it if possible. There is a iron fence which was left up and the 4 x 4 beams were attached to the iron fence for support as well as sunk into the ground. I just don't see the normal footing cement tube you normally see. Thanks
What would the Width be for this deck ? ? You have a pool that measure 15 yards by 10 yards. You want to build a deck around all four sides of the pool and you want to increase the total area to 250 square yards. What is the width of the deck?
Deck Building Experts,,, Need Your Advice!!? I'm building a small deck around my above ground pool. Question is this,,, when securing the beams to the posts, what is best, should I be making an "L" notch on either side of the post so the 2x10 beams fit on the post and level with the top of the post or should I just be bolting them to the sides of the posts so they are level with the top. Does that make sense the way I'm wording it? Please help me with this question. I'm sure if you are an experienced deck builder this question will make sense. Thanks for your help

would inground pool with a wooden deck devalue house? The concrete around our small 12,000Gallon pool is shifting and cracking. Someone said they can fix the problem and build a wooden deck, but husband and I are going to sell property in another year and don't want to "devalue" the house.
What's the best way to get the water out of my above ground pool return pipes (for winterizing)? I can't disconnect the pipe from the pool, because the previous owner build the deck around it. I have gotten water out of everything else, and have put the cover on the pool - this is the only thing left. I tried siphoning some of the water out, but am not sure it's all gone. I already have a plug in the return in the pool, so I'm scared that siphoning or vacuuming it out with a wet/dry vac won't work because of the vacuum that is created in the pipe.

Four guys are fishing in total silence? when , after an hour ,this conversation took place . First guy : " You have no idea what I had to promise the wife to come fishing today ! I have to paint the entire outside of the house next weekend " ! Second guy : " That's nothing ! I have to build mine a new deck around the pool " ! Third guy : " You 've got it easy, I had to promise to refurbish the kitchen " ! They continue to fish when they realise the fourth guy's said nothing ! So they asked him what promise he had to make to his wife ? " I just set the alarm for 4 am " he replies, " when it goes off, I shut it off, give the wife a nudge and asked her, fishing or sex "? She said, " wear sun block " !
Dek-block floating deck system do they work? I am getting ready to build a deck all the way around my 30ft. above ground pool and I want to use Dek-Blocks as they seem easier than digging 48 holes and pouring footings. I have an existing deck(Not built with Dek Block) and I want to tie the new deck in to the old one. I have heard good and bad about dek-blocks regarding code, and frost heave..Can anyone help me in determining if this is a good idea or not? Or if they have any other suggestions I am up for all info. I live in northern Indiana if that helps.
lets see you answer this math question..? terry wants to build a large swimming pool measuring 4m by 6m in her backyard. she then wants to build a deck of uniform width around the pool. if the deck is the same area as the pool, find the width of the deck. don't be afraid to draw a diagram, show your work :) tee hee hee
Math Help ALgebra 2 plzzzzz help? You have a pool that measures 8 yards by 10 yards. You want to build a deck around all four sides of the pool and you want to increase the total area to 120 square yards. The deck is the same width on both sides forming a perfect rectangle. What is the width of the deck?
Concrete contractors all millionaires? I'm getting a pool deck priced out and getting quotes around 6.75 a sq ft in the state of Mass. From what i have determined by talking to the concrete company the contractor is paying around 1.50 per sq ft for the concrete. It looks like a 2 day job, they will probably show up with illegal labor and pay around 10 an hour. It appears they are making a profit of around $7,000 grand for the job, meaning if they only do 20 pool decks a yr or 40 days of work they make 140k. Would it be cheaper and wise to find someone to build the framework and put down gravel and hire by the hour to manage the job--- then call the cement truck myself and pay for concrete? Money's tight and it seems like alot of money in exchange for some concrete around a pool..and there is alot more in the house that needs to be done.
What's an aesthetic design for the exterior of a swimming pool? recently, I had installed an above ground 12 foot diameter pool. the grass has been killed off around the surrounding area, and I have only had time to put a few potted tropical plants in places. I wont be doing any major work now with summer almost over, but I want to design over the winter something nice to do for next year. A running deck even to the top of the pool isnt an option. but what about one that is 1 foot off the ground? so that it could be walked on, have pool toys sit there and that way my kids and i dont have to walk in the mud around it? should it be wood or some other material? wood seems like high maintenance. I guess I could just build a landscaping bed but it might get ruined with too muich water when it splashes out and it drains when i clean it once a month. thank you for any suggestions.:)
If you are smart help me!! please? Ryan owns a campground. He installed a rectangular swimming pool measuring 10m by 20 m. He wants to build a wooden deck of uniform width around the pool. are these golf jokes funny? What will you do for golf? Four married guys go golfing on Sunday. During the 3rd hole the following conversation ensued: First Guy: "Man, you have no idea what I had to do to be able to come out golfing this weekend. I had to promise my wife that I will paint every room in the house next weekend." Second Guy: "That's nothing, I had to promise my wife that I will build her a new deck for the pool." Third Guy: "Man, you both have it easy! I had to promise my wife that I will remodel the kitchen for her." They continue to play the hole when they realized that the fourth guy has not said a word. So they ask him. "You haven't said anything about what you had to do to be able to come golfing this weekend. What's the deal?" Fourth Guy: "I don't want to talk about it. Let's just say that the foundation for the new house is being poured next Tuesday." I want to buy a golf ball A blonde golfer goes into the pro shop and looks around frowning. Finally the pro askes her what she wants. "I can't find any green golf balls," the blonde golfer complains. The pro looks all over the shop, and through all the catalogs, and finally calls the manufacturers and determines that sure enough, there are no green golf balls. As the blonde golfer walks out the door in disgust, the pro asks her, "Before you go, could you tell me why you want green golf balls?" "Well obviously, because they would be so much easier to find in the sand traps!"
Fathers then & now.......? Today is one of the first Father's Days of our new millennium. Fathers of 1900 didn't have it nearly as good as fathers of today; but they did have a few advantages: In 1900, fathers prayed their children would learn English. Today, fathers pray their children will speak English. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In 1900, a father's horsepower meant his horses. Today, it's the size of his minivan. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In 1900, if a father put a roof over his family's head, he was a success. Today, it takes a roof, deck, pool, and 4-car garage. And that's just the vacation home. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In 1900, a father waited for the doctor to tell him when the baby arrived. Today, a father must wear a smock, know how to breathe, and make sure film is in the video camera. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In 1900, fathers passed on clothing to their sons. Today, kids wouldn't touch Dad's clothes if they were sliding naked down an icicle. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In 1900, fathers could count on children to join the family business. Today, fathers pray their kids will soon come home from college long enough to teach them how to work the computer and set the VCR. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In 1900, fathers pined for old country Romania, Italy, or Russia. Today, fathers pine for old country Hank Williams. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In 1900, a father smoked a pipe. If he tries that today, he gets sent outside after a lecture on lip cancer. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In 1900, fathers shook their children gently and whispered, "Wake up, it's time for school." Today, kids shake their fathers violently at 4 a.m., shouting: "Wake up, it's time for hockey practice." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In 1900, a father came home from work to find his wife and children at the supper table. Today, a father comes home to a note: "Jimmy's at baseball, Cindy's at gymnastics, I'm at adult-Ed, Pizza in fridge." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In 1900, fathers and sons would have heart-to-heart conversations while fishing in a stream. Today, fathers pluck the headphones off their sons' ears and shout, "WHEN YOU HAVE A MINUTE.." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In 1900, a father gave a pencil box for Christmas, and the kid was all smiles. Today, a father spends $800 at Toys 'R' Us, and the kid screams: "I wanted Sega!" -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In 1900, if a father had breakfast in bed, it was eggs and bacon and ham and potatoes. Today, it's Special K, soy milk, dry toast and a lecture on cholesterol. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In 1900, a Father's Day gift would be a hand tool. Today, he'll get a digital organizer. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In 1900, fathers said, "A man's home is his castle." Today, they say, "Welcome to the money pit." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In 1900, "a good day at the market" meant Father brought home feed for the horses. Today, "a good day at the market" means Dad got in early on an IPO. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In 1900, a happy meal was when Father shared funny stories around the table. Today, a happy meal is what Dad buys at McDonald's. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In 1900, a father was involved if he spanked the kid now and then. Today, a father's involved only if he coaches Little League and organizes Boy Scouts and car pools. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In 1900, when fathers entered the room, children often rose to attention. Today, kids glance up and grunt, "Dad, you're invading my space." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In 1900, fathers threatened their daughters suiters with shotguns if the girl came home late. Today, fathers break the ice by saying, "So...how long have you had that earring?" -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In 1900, fathers pined for the old school, which meant a one-room, red-brick building. Today, fathers pine for the old school, which means Dr J and Mickey Mantle. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In 1900, fathers were never truly appreciated. In 2001, fathers are never truly appreciated. OMG 'TLJN19' this is jokes sectin and you are making us cry.
Which house is the best deal? (Lots of details to follow) I am a first time home buyer about to make a choice between two houses. I like both houses a lot, but my opinion aside, which one makes more sense financially? I am only looking to live in the house for about 5-7 years. Also I have no kids and I am not planning on having any. It would just be me and my boyfriend and our dog. Here is the house information, both houses are the SAME price. Both sellers would pay my closing costs. House A is 7 years old, in a new build neighborhood that is done with construction, it has 2 full baths and 3 bedrooms (including a master suite), Square footage is around 1250. It has only a tiny yard, maybe .1 of an acre. Inside needs some work (painting, carpet ripped up, cleaning), it also has a 2 car attached garage. House B was built in 1946, in an established older neighborhood, 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, 900 sq. feet, 1/2 an acre yard, all new carpet, new paint, move in ready, it has a one car detached garage, and a large deck/patio area. House B is about 2-3 minutes driving distance from where I work, House A is about 10-15. I don't know if this matters, but house B is across from a large upscale apartment complex. House A is in a neighborhood that has walking/nature trails and a community pool. Since I feel the same about each one, I am looking for advice on which one is the best deal for my money. Also, the best house for future resale. My realtor is on vacation this week, so I have to have an answer by Friday. Thanks for any advice! Please don't waste your time or mine with "I don't know answers" or "Whichever one you like better". I feel the same about them, I would love living in either one. Thanks again.

Why might my dogs be refusing to go out in their pen? My dogs (a 2 year old hound mix and 4 month old Newfoundland) have a pen/enclosure that they can gain access to through a door from the garage. They used it without incident for a few weeks after it was built, and are now refusing to go in it at all. We have tried going in and calling them to us, looked all around for anything that might have injured or frightened them (no one in the house recalls them coming inside and acting unusual), and have tried providing new perks like a wading pool, but they will not go out. We have irregular work schedules, so the self-serve out option was a blessing, but now the dogs refuse to go out unless it is on a leash. The older dog has to be coaxed off the deck, even on a leash. They are so opposed to going outside they have started toileting themselves on the garage floor, and today, one of them "pee'ed" in the house. Does anyone have any suggestions? I guess my real question is how can I "fix" this? Is there anything I can do that will make the pen more attractive to them again?
