Building an above ground pool deck question? We are installing an above ground pool. Should we put the pool in first and build the deck around it or build the deck and install the pool last? Should we put concrete under the pool?

I am having trouble with hornets and bees around my above ground pool deck...? I can get rid of them everywhere else in my yard, but not in the deck near my above ground pool. I have allergies to them, and need other options. My neighbors have cats that come in my yard daily, and I don't want to use something too poisonous or strong. I have tried tieing it and putting water bags around. The wind still gets underneath and the rope breaks, and the water bags fall in. I usually have a big mess by spring. How do you cover a above ground pool with wood deck surrounding pool completly ? All the covers I have seen on the internet hang over the side of the pool and tighten with a cable, but we have a wood deck surrounding our pool completly and have no way of getting a cover to hang over the outside of the pool .The wood deck goes underneath the top rail and right up to the edge of the pool. Is there a cover made for a 24 foot round with wood deck surrounding pool completly ?

has anyone installed an above ground pool? i want to put a deck around an above ground pool and i dont want to place the pool until i figure out the layout. are there deck and poolinstallers who do it all for you? best answer so far.. but i just dont want to set it up and find that the placement is awkward to build around or that it will cost more in materials because of unecessary wastage of lumber due to poor planning.

How do you cover above ground swimming pool with a deck? Our pool is 24 ft. round. We have tried all we can think of and we still get pockets of water which weight it down and pulls on our cover so hard that it tears the eyelets out of our cover. If you have the answer I thank you for your help.

Above Ground Pool Backfill and Deck Questions? Above Ground Pool and Backfill / Deck Questions? We just put in an AG Pool - 24 Round and we dug back into the ground. We now have a two foot trench around the pool on the back side and three foot of dirt wall behind it. We don't have a lot of space between the dug out section and a concrete patio. How much can we backfill around the pool? Could you go 2 feet on the backside only? My husband says we should not backfill but put in some type of wall to stabile the dirt behind the pool. Then put the deck up it will only go halfway around the pool. What else can we do? Thanks for any help! Dana

The people buying it have failed every day for seven days promised to show up, and have only called twice in that time with false promises of a pick up date, next he tells me he will be here Friday to pay balance, and pick up pool. It is a good quality 24' round pool surrounded by a deck - the deck does not extend over the pool edge - intentional on our part in case we needed to change liners. I have searched for local contactors, but no one does this kind of work.

Any advice for setting up a 25 foot used above ground pool (we just took it down yesterday).? We bought (cheap!) a 2 year old above ground 25 foot pool from a friend. It's an Ester Williams and is the kind with the carpeted aluminum deck that goes all the way around the pool. My biggest concern is the liner. One pool lady told me that we can't reuse the liner once it's been taken out and another pool lady said to just keep the liner wet and buy a preservative from a pool store. Will having an above ground pool increase my chances of selling my home? We are getting ready to put our home on the market. We have an above ground pool with a deck in our yard. Homes around here do not sell very fast though. It is not the best location. We were hoping that leaving the pool will give us the " edge" that we need. Our home also has central air, newer roof, furnace and a big covered porch that the other homes do not have. 1 car garage too. What do you think? Should we leave the pool or take it with us? How can I leave my above ground pool for the winter? I just got an above ground pool and great deck from a friend. We were doing some other work around our house so now we have decided to tackle the pool project. We live in Connecticut so after getting all the permits and everything we are just now starting to dig for the pool. When everything is done i.e. electrician and checked by the building dept the pool probably won't be in for a month or longer. I was thinking of leaving the pool shell, without a liner but covered for the winter. Is this something that I can do? That way I can put the liner and the water in next spring.

How do I remove the bottom track of an above ground swimming pool? I have removed the top and the entire vinyl liner. The wall has partially collapsed around the circumference. I can't find access to the bottom track so I can remove the vertical supports. Removing above ground pool from yard. What should I do with the new space? The pool is set into a large deck. This will leave a very large hole in the middle of it. Does anybody have any cool ideas for the new space other than just adding more boards and leaving it blank?

Above ground pool questions.....? Ok first of all let me start out by saying thank you to anyone who can answer these because my husband and I are going nuts trying to figure it out! We bought the house 2 years ago and it came with an above ground pool 21" whatever that means... it's a round one. (As you can tell my husband deals with it mostly I just swim in it!) Anyway the questions I have are.... 1.) On the pool deck there's outdoor carpeting that looks like mold it's so old and gross ( I refuse to walk on it without my flip flops!) and I want to replace it, but the people at the pool store said I would have to take the deck apart and relay the carpeting professionally... that sounds like a load of crap to me like they're just trying to make money off a clueless pregnant girl... The old carpeting looks like it was laid down under pieces of metal glued and then the metal was bolted on. Couldn't I just tear the old crap out and glue down new stuff? Maybe that’s just a lazy way to go about it, but couldn’t that work? 2nd question.) The pool place also sold us $150 worth of chemicals, which I'm scared to use because I'm 4 1/2 months pregnant... does anyone know if using natural products with only a little chlorine would be ok? Or do the same thing? Please any answers at this point will be so helpful!

Where does the deck go with a pool, above or next to the rim? I am building a deck along one side of my circular, above ground pool. In order to change the liner if needed, the caps on the rim would need to be removed. This leads me to think the deck should be built so it butts up against the side of the rim. But, the problem with that is, the rim is really rounded on top and I wouldn't have flush, level access into my pool. And Im worried about my kids standing on the rim of the pool when jumping in. How should the deck be built with these circumstances?

Why is the pe22 pool alarm for underground pools? Our large above ground pool has a large deck surrounding 70% of it and I would like the smart pool pe22 system but is specifies that it is for underground - anyone know why and why I couldnt use it? Thanks The company makes an above ground alarm too though with similar but less advantages. rust and hole on above ground pool question...? it's under the deck where the ladder goes a pretty big hole and a feel pin holes, i'm figuring i could remove what rust i can then spray rustoleum paint on the part that i couldn't get off, use one of those metal mesh patch things used for cars it has the sticky side and then go over that with bondo. my question is will the pool liner to have a reaction to the bondo? thx
